avid soll lieber mal open i/o lauffähig machen.
das trimmen mit bmd wurde besser (dank treiber von bmd 9.6.4) aber es läuft noch nicht rund.
für mich bringt dieses update garnichts. deshalb wird es einfach nicht gekauft.
mal sehen was 7.0 bringt

Hier werden die Neuerungen mal etwas im Detail gezeigt...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZEbCD78KxtQ&feature=share
Für die paar Features sind 500,- € doch wirklich mehr als happig! Bin mal gespannt, ob und wann die da von selbst drauf kommen und den Preis nach unten korrigieren.
Gruß,

| marianna hat folgendes geschrieben: | I also debated as to whether I "should" respond since it has been days since the launch and the pricing discussions started. I decided to respond but note that I wont be able to volley back and forth until the weekend so keep that in mind when you post ( i.e. dont bump because I dont respond as I might not be able to until I am in my home office).
I'll be completely honest with you folks..... I have been in this professional space since 1991 and I don't think $499 for a professional product is a lot of money. I just don't. You are business owners who need to think about running a business- for both yourselves and keepng in mind that Avid has to stay profitable. I cannot think that $499 is going to break the bank and $299 or $200 as someone put it is all that much different from $499. I know people who have cell phone plans that are upwards of $200 per month and will spend hundreds of dollars for the new iPhone 5 without batting an eye. We've spent millions of dollars on this upgrade We're not going to lower the price........ I've spoken to Product Management about this.
Software development costs money. Each release has features that appeal to many users and sometimes there are features that don't justify the cost of the upgrade. Media Composer and Symphony are unique products that appeal to many different markets and 6.5 has features that appeal to all markets. There are some great features in this product that are being overlooked. We've introduced one of the most requested features by users which is AMA encode. As camera manufactures introduce plug-in's for their formats, you'll now have the ability to writeback in a native codec. It's really the next generation of AMA functionality. ASO2 is a hugely important introduction as it introduces the first iteration of the next wave of mastering technologies. You can now deliver multi formats versions of the same program by only regenerating the changes in the program (for multi-language support, for instance). This is the first of Avid following standardization of format delivery for file-based workflows. As content producers, you will see large broadcast organizations demanding content be delivered in these type of bundles like AS02, AS03 and AS11. AMA and AS02 are huge forward looking items for file based media creation and delivery. We've also introduced another game changing item which is Interplay Sphere. Might not be something you are looking at now but it will. Because of the name, you may have overlooked this feature but there is a lot of MC features introduced to support this functionality. Many of you have discussed Adobe Anywhere, but I can tell you that Interplay Sphere is a much more sophisticated product that will change the way you edit in the future. This feature is only just the beginning of the next wave and future of video editing. In addition there are many, many requested features from users like increased audio voice count, copy and pasting of audio keyframe functionality, PhaseFind now works as a first class citizen on shared storage, and relinking enhancements so you can now link to any metadata field in a bin. This functionality opened the door so we can now interop better with Blackmagic Resolve. We worked for months with the Blackmagic folks to improve interop. There are some other features that I didn't mention here, but I am sure you get the point. It's been almost a year since we introduced a new MC product (6.0 was introduced at IBC last year and shipped in Nov) with updates lke 6.0.1, 6.0.1.1 and recently 6.0.3. We continue to try to keep our pricing models consistent so you can, as business owners, budget for these releases. We've been consistently releasing 1-2 products for many years and we constant evaluate pricing for all of our products but the most important item we are trying to find is consistency in pricing models so you can budget your upgrade costs. Thats all for now..... just my 2 cents and some justification as to why it is the way it is. Marianna |
